  On the current migrant crisis

  thousands of migrants have come to england this year, already beating last year's total.. some may have fled syria and other war-torn countries; others are economic migrants.. let me try to get my head around this phenomenon: migrants are relatively safe in france and other countries.

  they then leave the relative safety of continental europe and risk their lives and that of their children by crossing the english channel in rubber dinghies.

  there's just no fixing stupid, is there .

  Did You Think The Majority of Elders Were “Qualified “?

  in my opinion, in a body of elders let’s say with 7 elders , 2 or 3 were pretty much on the ball.

  they were reasonable, intelligent and moderate.

  the others were either extremely extreme about everything or very liberal.. did you have qualified older men or were they all lousy to you?

  In every congregation I have been in there has been good and bad elders. Some are still in, some have drifted away and some have been D/F'ed.

  However, one elder I know has been in the same congregation for over 40 years and an elder for almost all that time. As reliable as the North Star he has stuck at it through thick and thin. Other elders have come and gone. This last few months though he has gone very quiet, not answering, logging on to ZOOM at the last minute, leaving immediately after the last "Amen". He was away on holiday during the CO visit and never showed on ZOOM. I just wonder if he has finally woken up.

  one thing i've learnt over the years is to read between the lines.. that means reading statements carefully.. if you have never met someone, would you say "i have never met them" or would you say "i don't remember ever meeting them"?.

  the latter is just a get-out out in case evidence is presented that you did in fact meet them, because there is a photo of you with your arm around them in the upstairs of a pedo's friends, girlfriends house, which you also claim you never went to.. what will happen if the us jails a uk royal?

  who knows.. before then i just hope he does another of those "utterly convincing" bizarre interviews to "prove" how he couldn't have done it because he is incapable of sweating (cut to photo of sweating andrew).

  Absolutely. Anne Sacoolas killed Harry Dunn, the facts are uncontroversial. Prince Andrew may or may not have had sex with a 17 year old girl. Let's get our priorities right, even if he is an obnoxious royal.

  Nathan Natas, myself and no doubt countless other children studied the LGBT book in the 1940/50's. There was an interesting QFR asking why the WT Society did not produce a book for children. The reply in part, is shown below.

  ● Why does not the Watchtower Society publish simplified material for parents to use in teaching their children Bible truths?—A question based upon frequent inquiries by readers.
  

  It is also true that when the Law covenant ended and Christianity was established provision was made for a new priesthood to minister to the needs of obedient peoples, including an organized “faithful and discreet slave” class today that is commissioned to “give them their food at the proper time”, spiritual food here being meant. (Matt. 24:45-47; Heb. 3:1; 1 Pet. 2:9; Rev. 20:6, NW) But from this we may not argue that the “faithful and discreet slave” class must publish special books for children. The priests in Israel did not write special scrolls for the children to study. God’s Law did not provide for special tutoring of children groups separated from adults. Young and old were to assemble together for instruction. (Deut. 31:10-13) It is the same today. The “faithful and discreet slave” serves the spiritual food and arranges for congregational meetings of various kinds to make it available to all, young and old together. Then just as the parents in Israel had to fix these things in their minds so they could later impress them upon their children, parents today must simplify and clarify the truth for their children. Neither the priestly instruction in Israel nor the “discreet slave’s” provision for the theocratic organization today was or is for children exclusively.
  

  None of the sixty-six books of the Bible were written specially for children. From infancy Timothy was taught by his grandmother Lois and his mother Eunice, not from some child’s study book, but from the Holy Scriptures. (2 Tim. 1:5; 3:15) The typical theocracy in Israel provided no simplified study material for children. Neither was such provision made in the days of Jesus and the apostles. None need be made now. Adapting the material to the child’s mental capacities is the parent’s assignment from God. It is good for the parent. It will make the parent a diligent student himself, for one’s knowledge must be thorough in order to explain clearly and simply to others.

  Interesting story I heard about the Paradise book.

  In the run up to its 1958 release there was discussion about Adam, as he was alone in the Garden of Eden, did he have his genitals or not? Not a subject for discussion in a children's book so the answer was intimated at in the illustrations.

  On pages 20 and 21 is an illustration of Adam, carefully posed of course, but on page 20, to the left is a "cock" and on page 21 to his right is a squirrel with a couple of "nuts".

  What will happen in the new world? The answer is in the illustration on page 241 where we see the "cock" and the squirrel with his "nuts" have made it through Armageddon.

  There were two versions of "LGBT" -- a green one and a brown one. I can't recall which one we used, but it had to have been the later of the two.

  The green version was released in 1946, the brown version in 1952. In those days books had to be paid for so although the brown version had been released, apparently many JW's carried on using the green version with studies for many years after. This happened in our family.

  I wonder how much they sold it for and what will happen to the money ?

  No idea how much but all the funds will be used in charitable works to help hard up JW's and non-JW's that have suffered deprivations over the last year or so. That's what charities do. *

  As regards the properties they were all up for sale on a property website run by the WT society, I will see if I can find it.

  lloyd has a reminder set for a "leaked" video that he will be reviewing tomorrow, but it lacks details in the description.

  does anyone know what video he is referring to, or is this an upcoming loyd evans exclusive?.

  i find leaks exciting, especially if it's something that was never meant to be public and puts some serious egg on the faces of the blundering body..

  Just watched this, quite unbelievable. Thirty eight minutes of diatribe with no proof or substance for any of it.

  However, I think it does reveal how much the internet and social media is hurting them and they know it. If only I was 60 years younger........
